We took away the binkies!
Zadie is really enjoying reading her books...
...but she's not so keen on going to bed!

The Great Binki Removal
We decided that we'd had enough running into the babies' room at night to retreive lost binkies. I had been afraid that the 'binkie loser' would wake up the 'sleeper' and we'd have a baby tornado on our hands. Sometimes we'd run in there 10-15 times a night between the two of them. Fearing the worst, I slept with one ear always listening for a whimper. None of us were getting much sleep.
It happened suddenly, almost by mistake, I decided to *just try* one nap without the binkies. The next thing we knew we were a few days into letting our babies cry it out, letting them learn how to soothe themselves. At the start they cried for 15 minutes or so before falling asleep ... but immediatly they were sleeping longer and more deeply.
And for the last few nights, it's been blissfully silent when we say goodnight. We are all sleeping a whole lot better.
Now everything goes into their mouths!

they look so different! And it's only been a month or so. Congrats on the binkie removal - that will help you guys sleep better. Lots of love, Auntie Eve
I recognize those "binkie substitutes". So glad the Martha's Vineyard handmade rattles are serving such a good purpose!
Much love,
"Great Aunt" Sarah
